Frequently asked questions
We’ve put together the most common questions we get from our customers to make things easier for you.
Getting Started
What is Pixelco and how does it work?
Pixelco is a consent-based lead capture network. When a visitor consents and shares their email on any partner site in our network, we securely link that email to a unique identifier. That identifier can then be recognized on other partner sites they visit. If they land on your site, Pixelco instantly matches the visitor and sends you their email in real time – no extra forms, fields, or friction required. You just install a small pixel on your site and let the network work for you in the background.
How is it different from traditional lead generation?
Traditional lead generation depends on forms and paid campaigns where visitors constantly have to re-enter their details. Pixelco flips that model. Instead of chasing form fills, it uses a trusted, consent-based identity network that recognizes returning visitors across partner sites. You receive verified, high-intent leads in real time – without the friction of extra forms or the ongoing cost of heavy ad spend.
Best of all, your cost per high-intent lead is typically a fraction of what you’d pay with traditional lead providers.
What types of companies can benefit from using Pixelco?
Whether you’re selling products, offering services, publishing content, or generating inbound demand, Pixelco helps you uncover who’s visiting your site and gives you verified, consent-based leads you can immediately act on.
It works for e-commerce brands, SaaS platforms, B2B companies, agencies, real estate professionals, media sites, and virtually any business that wants more insight, more leads, and more revenue from their existing traffic.
How soon will I start seeing results?
As soon as your pixel is installed and a visitor from the network lands on your site, you can start receiving leads. There’s no long setup or learning curve – Pixelco works in real time, so new matched visitors appear in your dashboard immediately.
Can I use it on multiple websites at the same time?
Yes. You can use Pixelco on as many websites and domains as you like under the same account, as long as they are owned or managed by your business. Each website receives its own unique pixel ID, and there’s no additional cost for adding more sites. Every site simply gets its own pixel snippet, and all leads flow into your Pixelco dashboard so you can see performance across every property in one place.
Installation & Setup
How do I install the pixel on my website?
Installing the pixel is quick and doesn’t require technical expertise. You simply add a small JavaScript snippet to your site’s header or install it through Google Tag Manager. We provide a step-by-step installation guide for every compatible platform, along with ready-made, GDPR-compliant privacy policy text that you add to your own privacy policy so visitors clearly understand how the pixel works.
Where do I place the script?
For best results, place the script in your site’s global <head> section so it loads on every page. You can do this through your theme settings, or via a tag manager like Google Tag Manager. If you’re using page builders or a custom setup, just make sure the script is added to the site-wide header rather than a single page only.
Does it work with WordPress, Shopify and other platforms?
Absolutely. The pixel is compatible with all common website builders and CMS platforms, including WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, and custom HTML/PHP sites.
Will it slow down my website?
No. The pixel is lightweight and loads asynchronously, meaning it doesn’t block your pages from rendering or slow down the user experience. It’s delivered via fast, reliable infrastructure and is designed to have a negligible impact on performance. Your site will continue to load just as quickly, while the tracking runs quietly in the background.
Email Collection & Lead Tracking
Can I see how many times a lead has visited my website?
Yes. Each lead profile shows the total number of recorded visits. Pixelco also has built-in sorting and filtering tools in the dashboard to make it easy to organize your leads and quickly spot the visitors who are most engaged.
How can I optimize my website to capture more emails?
To maximize email capture, make sure the pixel is installed across your entire website so every important page is covered. From there, focus on creating natural opportunities for visitors to share their email – such as newsletter sign-ups, discount pop-ups, chatbots, or free offer forms. The more high-intent traffic you drive to these touchpoints, and the more relevant they feel to your visitors, the more hot leads we can identify and send you.
Is there a limit to how many emails I can collect?
There’s no limit. Pixelco scales effortlessly with your traffic, and since you only pay per email collected, you can capture as many as you like without ever hitting a cap or plan restriction.
How accurate is the email matching?
Pixelco’s email matching is designed to be highly accurate while still remaining privacy-friendly, utilizing one of the most advanced identification technologies on the market. When a visitor gives consent in the network, their email is securely linked to a unique fingerprint ID tied to their device. This allows the system to recognize them on other partner sites with the pixel installed – without asking them to enter their details again.
If a visit can’t be confidently matched to a known identity, it simply won’t appear as a lead. That way, the contacts you see in your dashboard are leads we’re genuinely confident about, no guesses.
Can I export the emails I collect?
Yes. You can export your leads at any time as a CSV file, making it easy to import them into your CRM, email marketing platform, or other tools. You can also filter by date range or other criteria before exporting so you only download the segments you need.
Privacy & Compliance
How is my website visitors’ privacy protected?
Pixelco protects visitor privacy with a consent-first approach and strict technical safeguards. No tracking or email matching takes place until a visitor has clearly agreed via the consent banner. We only collect the data needed to deliver the service – primarily email and technical identifiers used for matching – and we never sell data or share it with unrelated third parties.
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted to authorized systems and personnel, and activity is monitored for security purposes. Visitors can refuse tracking or withdraw consent at any time, and we provide ready-made wording to your own privacy policy so it’s clear to users how Pixelco operates on your site.
Is it compliant with GDPR and other privacy regulations?
Yes, Pixelco is designed to fit into a GDPR-compliant, privacy-respecting setup. The service is built around key GDPR principles such as lawfulness, transparency, data minimisation, and security. Consent is used as the legal basis for processing, and the product is configured so that data is only processed after a visitor has given clear, informed consent. We limit collection to what’s necessary for lead matching and reporting, secure it appropriately, and retain it only for as long as it’s needed for those purposes.
What data is collected about visitors?
Pixelco only collects the data needed for lead delivery and analytics. This includes the visitor’s email (when provided with consent), basic visit information such as timestamps, pages viewed, and referral or UTM data, as well as technical signals used for security, matching, and duplicate prevention. For a full breakdown of what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.
How is visitors’ data handled?
Visitor data is used solely to deliver lead matching, reporting, and related analytics to you as a customer. It is stored in secure infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to authorized systems and personnel under strict access controls. Data is never sold and is only shared with you, other partner websites and carefully selected subprocessors that are necessary to operate the service.
How do users consent to email tracking?
Users consent through a clear banner displayed on your site when they first visit, or on any other site in the Pixelco network. The banner explains in simple terms what is being tracked and why, and gives them a choice to accept or reject. It also makes clear that, by accepting, they agree to receive more relevant communication and offers that match the types of sites and services they’re already interested in.
When they accept, their consent is recorded at network level and linked to their device, so they don’t have to approve tracking again on every new partner site they visit. If they later land on your site with consent already given on your site or another partner site, the banner won’t be shown again.
What happens if a visitor withdraws consent?
If a visitor withdraws consent or opts out via the banner or another contact channel, the pixel stops using their data for email matching and lead delivery going forward. Their choice is recorded so they are not tracked or shared as a lead on subsequent visits. Where required, we also support requests for access or deletion of existing data, so you can respond properly to data subject requests and keep your use of Pixelco aligned with your overall GDPR and privacy obligations.
